For the second day in a row, new Covid-19 cases remain below 400.

With only 370 new cases reported on Wednesday, the number of daily coronavirus infections in the country has remained below 400.

According to the most recent Department of Health report, the country’s active case count is at 12,510, down from 13,026 on Tuesday.

Following Tuesday’s 356 new infections, which was the lowest single-day number of infections in 17 months, the country has seen less than 400 new cases for the second day in a row.

Meanwhile, another 861 additional recoveries brought the total to 2,773,322.

Since the beginning of the epidemic last year, recoveries have accounted for 97.8% of the total case count of 2,835,593.

There are 4,974 mild cases, 883 asymptomatic patients, 476 critical cases, 2,261 severe cases, and 3,916 moderate cases among active cases.

With 171 fresh deaths, the death toll now stands at 49,761.

“Only 14 deaths were reported in December 2021, out of a total of 113. Due to late transmission of death information to COVID-Kaya, about 21% of today’s reported deaths happened in November 2021 “According to the Department of Health.

The COVID-Kaya is a digital application that allows health care professionals to collect and share information regarding Covid-19 cases.

The Department of Health has stated that this issue is being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure that information is updated.

On December 6, the Department of Health reported that 1.6 percent of the 28,942 people who were tested for Covid-19 were positive.

“There were about 27 duplicates eliminated from the total case count, 25 of which were recoveries and one was a death. In addition, 95 cases tested negative and were eliminated from the total case count because 92 of them were recoveries “According to the Department of Health.

After final validation, 150 cases that were previously labeled as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.

On December 5, two laboratories were unavailable, while five others were unable to transmit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on statistics from the previous 14 days, the seven laboratories are responsible for 1.2 percent of samples examined and 1.9 percent of positive persons, according to the DOH.

Patients with Covid-19 have used 24 percent of 3,500 ICU beds, 24 percent of 19,600 isolation beds, 13 percent of 12,900 ward beds, and 14 percent of 3,000 ventilators nationwide to date.

Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region, 24 percent of 1,200 ICU beds, 21 percent of 4,700 isolation beds, 19 percent of 3,900 ward beds, and 16 percent of 1,000 ventilators are dedicated to patients with Covid-19.
