Portugal has been added to the PH’s Covid-19’red list.’
Portugal has been placed on the “red” list for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), which means that travelers from this country are prohibited from entering the Philippines due to the high risk of infection.
Karlo Nograles, Cabinet Secretary and acting presidential spokesperson said the IATF-EID issued Resolution No. 153 on Thursday, which places Portugal on the red list of countries/territories/jurisdictions from 12:01 a.m. on December 12 to December 15.
Passengers arriving in the Philippines on or after 12:01 a.m. on December 12, but before 12:01 a.m. on December 15, will be required to undergo facility-based quarantine for 14 days, with a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test on the 7th day, with Day One being the date of arrival, according to Nograles.
Regardless of a negative RT-PCR result, the 14-day quarantine must be completed.
Passengers arriving in the Philippines from or who have visited Portugal within the last 14 days, regardless of vaccination status, will be denied entrance into any Philippine port starting at 12:01 a.m. on December 15.
Only Filipinos returning to the country via government- or non-government-sponsored repatriation, as well as Bayanihan Flights, may be granted admission, he said, subject to existing testing and quarantine processes for red-list countries, territories, and jurisdictions.
Other nations on the Philippines’ red list include South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Mozambique, as well as Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Italy.
