On Tuesday, the Davao City Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Task Force urged fully vaccinated people to get their booster doses in order to meet the city’s aim, stating that the city had enough vaccines and vaccination facilities.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, a spokesperson for the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, reported that as of February 4, a total of 181,757 Dabawenyos have received their anti-Covid booster dose.

She added that the city still has a long way to go in terms of achieving the desired population immunity.

“We want to make sure that everyone gets their booster. Because we’ve virtually completed our population protection, we’re aiming for a total population of 1.8 million people. As a result, we aim for the same number of booster dosages “Schlosser said.

She also mentioned that vaccination for the first and second doses is still happening at the same time as the booster dosage rollout.

According to data from the vaccination cluster, the municipal administration administered a total of 1,289,103 first-dose vaccines and 1,248,068 second-dose vaccines.

Schlosser also advised residents interested in receiving anti-Covid-19 shots to consult the local government’s Facebook page for vaccination station schedules.
