With the fifth phase of the national action plan (NAP 5), the administration will focus its tactics on rebuilding the economy, which has been heavily damaged by the Covid-19 pandemic, acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles stated Wednesday.

By June, the government plans to reach 90 million adult Filipinos with Covid-19 initial doses and booster shots, as well as expand the children’s vaccination program.

“Dapat más marami po ang makakapaghanapbuhay na, mais marami ang employment, ma-promote natin ang job promotion, investment, catch-up strategy natin para sa economy,” Nograles added.

He went on to say that the government will improve the healthcare system by expanding the scope of home-based care and telemedicine consultations, as well as updating procurement plans for Covid-19 therapy drugs.

In addition to increasing vaccination, Nograles stated that antiviral treatment or drugs will be offered.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases’ several clusters, according to Nograles, now have the most up-to-date version of the NAP, which includes changes in protocols and policies to deal with Covid-19.

The overarching purpose of the NAP is to eradicate the Covid-19 threat in order to protect individuals from infection risks and to lessen the social, economic, and security consequences of the health problem.
