DAVAO CITY, Philippines – If Mayor Sara Z. Duterte were elected vice president, she said she would open satellite offices in every region to bring government services closer to the people.

“If I win in the upcoming elections, we would establish satellite offices in all regions,” she declared in a statement posted by the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) on Tuesday night.

Duterte emphasized the significance of bolstering Regional Development Councils (RDCs) in order to pursue greater infrastructure projects that benefit citizens and investors alike.

She stated that she spotted regions in need of development during the Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride (MNPR) that lasted the entire month of February.

“We visited to several districts and found that there is unequal development in the country, particularly in terms of infrastructure development,” Duterte added.

Duterte was able to campaign for herself and the Uniteam candidates and speak to people around the country during the 28-day caravan.

She was also able to witness firsthand the condition on the ground and the scope of the government’s development efforts, according to her.

“If there is one area (that I will return to), it is Eastern Visayas,” Duterte remarked, “since they still need [some] infrastructural development compared to the other areas.”

She did, however, acknowledge the rival groups’ efforts to engage with MNPR organizers in order to demonstrate support and volunteer to be community leaders for her causes.

Duterte’s vice-presidential campaign began with the MNPR.

She will also travel to provinces not featured in the ride’s itinerary.
