MANILA, Philippines — Guillermo Eleazar, a former Philippine National Police (PNP) commander and Partido Reporma senate candidate, has received the endorsement of the Philippine Association of Detective and Protective Agencies Operators Inc. (PADPAO).

The 600,000-member group proclaimed its support for Eleazar’s candidacy in a statement signed by its president Ramon Bergado, claiming the retired police general’s demonstrated track record makes him very qualified to win a seat in the Senate.

“We, the Philippine Association of Detective & Protective Agencies Operators, Inc. (PADPAO), express our full support for former Philippine National Police Chief General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar’s senatorial run in the May 9, 2022 elections,” PADPAO said in a statement Friday.

“A man of honor and integrity, we feel he possesses all of the qualities and track record required of a public servant occupying a national role in furthering the country’s peace and order,” the statement continued.

The group said they saw firsthand how the previous PNP chief respected the responsibility of each member of the security sector in keeping the streets and community secure from criminal elements while supporting Eleazar.

PADPAO, which is made up of security guards, private detectives, and investigators, also agreed with Eleazar that peace and order are essential for economic progress.

“We are impressed with the bold changes he implemented to instill discipline among police officers and reduce corruption in the police force, which resulted in good police service and gained the Filipino people’s faith and confidence in the PNP.” We are convinced that we require a Senator of General Eleazar’s caliber in the Senate: someone who is honest, incorruptible, dedicated to serving the Filipino people, and who has a strong and courageous heart to defend what is right and correct what is wrong,” the statement continued.

Meanwhile, Eleazar expressed gratitude to PADPAO for their assistance.
