In Japan, the world’s oldest individual dies at the age of 119.
TOKYO, JAPAN โ Kane Tanaka, a Japanese lady who was thought to be the world’s oldest person, died on Thursday at the age of 119, according to local station NHK.
Tanaka was born on January 2, 1903, and worked until she was 103 years old in her family’s grocery store. During World War II, her husband and eldest son were slain.
She had been a resident of a Fukuoka nursing home since 2005.
Tanaka was named the world’s oldest living person by Guinness World Records in 2019.
