The Comelec will resume voter registration for the village and SK elections.
MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Monday that voter registration will begin next month or in July.
The registration would begin six months before the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections later this year, according to Commissioner George Garcia.
“We will already resume voter registration by June or July,” he declared at a press conference.
“Those who have yet to register to vote, keep an eye out for voter registration to resume in June or the first week of July,” he said.
Voter registration is required not only for ordinary voters or those aged 18 and above but also for those planning to vote in the SK elections.
Registration is also the start of their preparations for the December barangay and SK elections, according to Garcia.
On October 30, 2021, voter registration for the May 2022 elections closed.
