The government of Quezon City has reported a 97.97 percent recovery rate from coronavirus infection…
CDO maintains a low rate of Covid-19 infection.
Even while the local administration continues to ramp up the vaccination campaign, this city has maintained its reputation of having the lowest coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection rates in the country.
According to Dr. Ted Yu Jr., medical officer of the City Health Office (CHO), Northern Mindanao is one of the five regions in the country with the lowest prevalence of Covid-19 instances, according to a study from the Department of Health (DOH).
“There was an eight to ten percent increase in Covid-19 instances in the other regions, particularly the National Capital Region,” he stated at a press conference on Wednesday.
According to Yu, the city’s average daily attack rate is 0.18 percent, with a negative 53 percent two-week growth rate.
“While the figures may change by June 1,” he said, “for the past five weeks, Cagayan de Oro City has averaged zero to one Covid-19 case daily (and this is reflected) in our health care use rate of 1.28 percent.”
The alert level system considers a local government’s vaccination rate as part of its evaluation factors, which is substantially above 90% in the city.
The Intern-Agency Task Force was able to keep the city’s Alert Level 1 status from June 1 to 15, as well as the provinces in the region, with the exception of Lanao del Norte, which was placed under Alert Level 2.
During the quarterly meeting of the Regional Development Council’s Communications and Advocacy Committee, Dr. Emma Pilar Imperio, DOH-Northern Mindanao (Region 10) family health cluster program manager, emphasized the importance of intensifying the Covid-19 booster vaccine.
According to Imperio, only 448,638 qualified individuals received the booster dose as of May 27, compared to the targeted 3,688,897 in Region 10.
