A New P182-M bridge in Aurora is to be built by DPWH
The province of Aurora will soon see the construction of a new bridge that will improve public mobility.
The ceremonial groundbreaking for the new 208.8-linear meter Diteki Bridge in San Luis town was led on Friday by Rommel Angara, the lone representative for Aurora’s district, and Denise Maria Ayag, assistant regional director of the Department of Public Works and Highways-Central Luzon (DPWH)-3.
The existing, constrained steel bridge, which has deteriorated over time, will be replaced by the new building, according to Ayag’s message.
In a social media post, he claimed that the new bridge, once it is finished, will be able to accommodate a wider range of vehicles due to the fact that it is built with a wider deck for straightforward passage in both directions. This will help to ease traffic in the area, particularly during the height of the tourist influx, he added.
The Regional Construction Division will carry out the bridge replacement project in two stages with financing from the 2022 General Appropriations Act allocated at PHP67.55 million and PHP115 million, respectively.
In San Luis, the DPWH is also building a 90-linear-meter bridge that will cost around PHP104.71 million when it is finished and will give locals access to a reliable and effective road transportation system.
According to Ayag, the projects’ execution is a part of DPWH’s commitment to fostering Aurora’s tourism and economic development and further enhancing interprovincial transportation.
Angara emphasized the crucial part that the DPWH’s infrastructure investments have played in the growth of the province and in improving the lives of its citizens.
