In July, Converge and Globe were the fastest on Netflix.
Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (Converge), a provider of fiber broadband, and Globe Telecom Inc. (Globe), a provider of mobile and internet services, topped Netflix’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) Speed Index in July.
Converge and Globe both recorded an average performance of 3.4 Megabits per second (Mbps) on Netflix’s ISP Speed Index for the month of July, outperforming PLDT and Sky Cable’s 3.2 Mbps and Royal Cable’s 3 Mbps.
This is in contrast to the ISP Speed Index from June, which named Globe the nation’s best provider after it achieved an average performance of 3.6 Mbps. Converge, Sky Cable, and PLDT came in second with 3.4 Mbps, followed by Royal Cable with 3.2 Mbps.
According to the statement, “The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime-time Netflix performance on a specific ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may flow via the specific ISP network.”
Converge’s a chief operating officer, Jesus Romero, remarked in a media release on Thursday how the firm boosted the speed of its base plan to 100 Mbps in order to improve the client experience.
Since we’ve been able to maintain constant speeds that are excellent for streaming and downloading videos at the high-quality resolution, we’re back on top in July according to Netflix’s ISP Speed Index, according to Romero.
A monthly ranking of ISPs based on their capacity to provide the finest prime-time viewing experience on the streaming platform is known as the Netflix ISP Speed Index Philippines.
Faster Netflix performance typically correlates to higher picture quality, quicker start times, and fewer commercial interruptions.
