To keep all military resources AFP and PAF are urged “ready to go”.

In order to perform their duties as the nation’s first line of defense against external security threats, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to keep all military assets in good condition and “ready to go.”

In order to keep all of our military assets ready to use, I, therefore, direct the Philippine Air Force and the AFP to keep improving your maintenance and repair capabilities, Marcos said on Friday during an inspection of the PAF’s recommissioning of two C-130T aircraft at Clark Air Base in Pampanga.

He claimed that the recommissioned aircraft, which had undergone significant repair and maintenance, will help the PAF carry out various missions more successfully, particularly those involving humanitarian relief and disaster response activities.

He thanked the Philippine allies in the Portuguese and American governments for making the recommissioning possible.

He added, “I am confident that our partners will be more than eager to assist us in enhancing your capabilities and making the required investments to guarantee that we realize our common aspirations for the nation and for this area.

The Commander-in-Chief, in addition to inspecting the C130T aircraft, saw a capabilities demonstration of the C208B Grand Caravan EX and the Hermes 900 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.

The President also expressed his gratitude to the PAF for bestowing upon him an Honorary Philippine Air Force Gold Wing Award, enabling him to join the distinguished group of Air Force recipients who have attained the prestigious distinction.

Three C-295 helicopter units, as well as the first batch of Ground Based Air Defense System (GBADS) equipment, which included 11 Tatra vehicles, 12 I-Derby canisterized missile units, and four container vans of integrated logistics support packages for the GBADS Battery unit, were delivered to the PAF between January 2022 and March 29, 2023, as part of the AFP Modernization Program.

Four T-129 ATAK helicopter units are also part of the new PAF equipment.
