The government has implemented green lanes for strategic investments, aiming to expedite the process of securing licenses and permits for critical investment projects. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the Green Lanes for Strategic Investments launch, established through Executive Order No. 18, signed in February 2023.

📃 The Executive Order aims to streamline and automate the government approval and registration process for priority investments and strategic projects, according to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual.

🌍 These green lanes will support the PHP3.5 trillion investment leads accumulated from recent foreign trips of Marcos and his economic team to various countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, the United States, Japan, China, Thailand, and Europe.

🏢 The Board of Investments (BOI) will establish a One-Stop-Action-Center for Strategic Investments (OSAC-SI) as the single entry point for all qualified Strategic Investments.

💼 Pascual highlighted that the green lanes would assist the BOI in achieving its PHP1.5 trillion investment approvals target for 2023.

⏩ Investors with strategic investment projects are advised to obtain a Certificate of Endorsement from the BOI, which can be presented to national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) to expedite processing permits and licenses.

🔖 The first EO 18 Certificate of Endorsement was awarded to SunAsia Energy, Inc. for its 1,300-megawatt floating solar project in Laguna Lake.

📊 Marcos emphasized his administration’s priority of ease of doing business, aiming to address the concerns of prospective investors and boost investment realization.
