LGUs discuss immunization campaigns.
Local government units (LGUs) are cooperating to meet the national government’s need to increase vaccination campaigns.
Mayor Chavit Singson of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, who is also the national president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, said local governments have established a coordinating structure to address vaccine apprehension.
“Iyong mga iba ay natatakot, but nakukumbinsi sila. ‘Pag hindi kayo vaccinated kako, lalo nga kayong tatamaan. So, kanila, pinasabi ko. So, iyong mga iba, pumayag naman. Importante diyan, information sa ating mga kababayan (Some people are still afraid, but they are convinced when they are told that not getting vaccinated is riskier.) As a result, they give in. Some people believe it. For our constituents, information is critical) “During the Laging Handa press conference on Saturday, he added.
Singson also stated that local governments adhere to the national government’s safe and healthy procedures.
“Because iyong information ang vital diyan, sila ngayon ngayon ngayon ngayon ngayon ngayon ngayon ngayon ngayon ngay As a result, at any costs, unang-una sinasabi namin lahat iyong preventive. (This is why they are more active now because the information is so crucial.) So, first and foremost, we all say that prevention is our top goal at all costs, which means that people must be vaccinated), “he stated
He went on to say that all mayors work hard since they are among the front-line responders to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Kaming lahat nakapronta pa rin, at priority talaga iyong bakuna. Sinusundan namin lahat ng national utos at tinutulungan namin at kaniya-kaniya rin kaming tulong “he stated
Border security measures are also being maintained, particularly in light of the expected increase in travelers over the holidays.
“So, for all kinds of paghahanda preparations, iyon ang inaatupag namin ngayon at nagbabalitaan kaming mga ibang municipalities kung anong magandang gawin na paghahanda (So, for all kinds of paghahanda preparations, iyon ang inaatupag namin ngayon at nagbabalitaan kaming ) That’s what we’re concentrating on right now, and we’re advising other municipalities about the necessary preparations), “Singson continued.
President Rodrigo Duterte has already underlined the importance of local governments in helping the country fulfill its goal of fully vaccinating at least 50 million Filipinos and achieving population protection by December this year.
