To meet the increased demand for the service, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) launched the first Philippine passport renewal center in North America in Los Angeles.

It is a tribute to the Philippine government’s “untiring push to make consular services more accessible” to overseas Filipinos around the world, the DFA said on Saturday.

“The Philippine ePassport Renewal Center (PaRC) system augments and strengthens the consular activities of our 94 embassies and consulates worldwide.” It significantly lessens the pressure to get more things done faster and faster until more mistakes are made or the public is forced to accept slower and slower service “During the inauguration on December 3, DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. noted.

The new regeneration center, according to Locsin, will be open even on weekends.

“Filipinos in Los Angeles and the surrounding states do not have to worry about missing work or other hassles due to an 8-to-5 schedule. I know you work so hard to make a living out here, and we’ll make sure the PaRC goes above and above to assist you,” he stated.

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles serves the region’s biggest group of abroad Filipinos.
