MANILA, Philippines — The “real sentiments” of voters were revealed in a recent poll done by OCTA Research, which was topped by the UniTeam of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

In a statement released Monday, Marcos’ lawyer Vic Rodriguez noted that the presidential bet’s direct engagement with the people “really works.”

“Certainly, there is no alternative for turning there in person, in flesh and blood, just to be in the company of millions of people one wishes to serve,” Rodriguez said of the UniTeam motorcades and campaigns held across the country.

“The entire world is monitoring what is happening in Philippine politics. Our abroad Filipino employees, as well as world leaders, are obtaining the appropriate facts and a clear image, thanks to reputable survey firms such as OCTA Research “Added he.

Marcos received 55 percent of the vote in the Tugon ng Masa poll in February 2022, followed by Vice President Leni Robredo (15 percent), Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (11 percent), Senator Manny Pacquiao (ten percent), and Senator Ping Lacson (three percent).

Duterte received 43% of the vote among vice-presidential candidates, followed by Senate President Vicente Sotto III with 33%, Senator Francis Pangilinan with 10%, Dr. Willie Ong with 7%, and Buhay party-list Representative Lito Atienza with 1%.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to OCTA Research for their selfless efforts in bringing the true sentiments of the Filipino people to light on a regular basis,” Rodriguez said, urging the Commission on Elections to ensure “the conduct of free, orderly, honest, and credible elections — the very essence of Philippine democracy.”
