LEGAZPI CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health in Bicol (DOH-5) continues to urge the public to always observe the health and safety regulations, despite the decreasing number of daily coronavirus illnesses (Covid-19) in the province.

Keen Nuyda of the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) said the number of new cases in the region has been low over the last four weeks during DOH-5’s “Ulat sa Covid-19” on Monday.

“Yung ating typical daily cases ay umabot lamang ng four to five cases per day ang nadi-detect natin, ay nag-zero case tayo,” he said.

The low number of daily recorded cases in Bicol, according to Nuyda, demonstrates that the government’s and the public’s efforts to combat Covid-19, including the vaccination deployment, are effective.

He did, however, remind the public to adhere to the minimal public health requirements at all times.

“Kaya naman po ngayong darating na Holy Week at summer season na, plus alam natin na mayroong mga political rallies, let us remember pa din po that Covid-19 is still around us, dapat tayo pa rin mismo as individuals ay nakikipaglaban at nagiging handa sa Covid-19 at all times,” Nuy said.
