In the current Pulse Asia study, BBM and Sara maintain a large advantage.
MANILA, Philippines โ According to the latest Pulse Asia Survey, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is the most popular presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the forthcoming May 9 elections.
According to Pulse Asia Research Inc.’s “Ulat ng Bayan” nationwide survey, conducted from March 17 to 21, 56 percent of qualified Filipino voters would elect Marcos as president if elections were held within the survey period.
“Nearly large majorities across geographic areas and socio-economic levels back the ex-presidential lawmaker’s run (48 percent to 64 percent and 52 percent to 56 percent, respectively),” according to Pulse Asia.
Marcos’ voter support, on the other hand, fell by 4%, while closest rival Vice President Leni Robredo received 24% of the vote, up from 9% in February.
“The other presidential candidates receive a maximum of 8% of the vote. Furthermore, 1% of probable voters are still undecided about who to vote for as president, another 1% are undecided about who to vote for, and 0.5 percent refuse to name their preferred presidential candidate “Pulse Asia reports on this.
“If their first pick for president does not run for president for any reason,” it continued, “23 percent of probable voters will vote for Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso.”
Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao was third with 8%, followed by Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson with 2%, Faal Mangondato with 1%, former Palace spokesperson Ernesto “Ernie” Abella with 0.1 percent, Jose Montemayor Jr. with 0.05 percent, Leodegario “Leody” De Guzman with 0.02 percent, and former Defense chief Norberto Gonzales with 0%.

According to Pulse Asia, Duterte is also the preferred vice-presidential candidate of large pluralities to overwhelming majorities across geographic areas and socio-economic classes, with 44 percent to 83 percent and 55 percent to 63 percent, respectively, across geographic areas and socio-economic classes.

Despite the “overwhelming support of the people,” the Marcos camp claims there is no cause to be complacent.
“Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokeswoman, stated in a statement that “despite 32 days to the national and local elections, we implore our followers, volunteers, and campaigns to resist complacency and remain focused on achieving our common aim of 70% presidential preference mark.”
“Until the 70 percent preference survey polling position is obtained,” Rodriguez stated, Marcos would not rest.
“We welcome the people’s tremendous support, as the Pulse Asia survey findings plainly demonstrate,” he stated, “but the task to make history will stay lit until election day, and even beyond.”
“We will not rest until we achieve the 70% preferred polling position until every vote is counted, and the Filipino people’s ambitions become a reality,” he continued.
