MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is preparing to send augmentation forces to President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President-elect Sara Z. Duterte-inaugurations Carpio’s next month.

Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., PNP officer-in-charge, said at a press conference in Camp Crame Monday that no threats have been observed for the inauguration of the two new leaders, but police are continuing to monitor.

“The PNP is ready to respond to any eventuality for the inauguration of both our president-elect and vice president-elect,” Danao said. “In fact, we have been coordinating with the different focal persons to ensure safety and security regardless of where they choose to have the inaugural.” “We will supplement if the need arises.”

“At this time, we have not received any credible threats.” However, we should not be complacent, given that they are our country’s senior authorities. We must maintain vigilance at all times. So atin pong i-guarantee the safety of the President-elect and Vice President-elect (We should ensure the protection of both the president-elect and vice president-elect),” Danao remarked.

He stated that the police are prepared to ensure a seamless transfer of power.

“We are fully prepared to facilitate a seamless handover of power from President Duterte to President-elect Marcos as we continue to be ever faithful and loyal to the Constitution, the flag, and the lawfully constituted authorities in fulfilling out law enforcement and public safety duties,” he said.

On June 19, Duterte will be inaugurated in Davao City, then on June 30, in Marcos.

The PNP’s Police Security and Protection Group, according to Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, chief of the PNP-Public Information Office, is ready to help the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in securing the two events.
