The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has expanded its online payment alternatives.

MANILA, Philippines — The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) continues to offer more payment alternatives to its online payment system, making it easier for the public to pay registration and transaction fees.

Clients can now pay the Commission using their GCash payment wallets to settle registration and other transaction fees, as well as fines, using the Commission’s electronic payment system (eSPAYSEC).

“It’s only been a year since we launched eSPAYSEC, but it’s already established itself as a preferred payment option for the transacting public due to the simplicity and security it provides,” SEC Chairperson Emilio Aquino said in a statement on Thursday.

“This demonstrates the public’s willingness to adopt digital solutions when they become available, and it reinforces the Commission’s commitment to its digital transformation projects to improve Filipinos’ ease of doing business,” he said.

The eSPAYSEC is a web-based system that allows users to pay fees and penalties to the Commission online using debit and credit cards, digital wallets, and other cashless payment options. It was launched on March 1, 2021.

As of June 8, 2022, the online payment site had taken payments for fees and penalties totaling PHP202.32 million from a total of 29,565 transactions.

In 2022, PHP99.57 million was collected, which is expected to surpass the PHP102.75 million collected online in 2021.

The public can use the eSPAYSEC by going to https://espaysec.sec.gov.ph/payment-portal/home on the Commission’s website.

Clients just need to enter the reference number supplied in the SEC’s payment assessment form, pick GCash as their payment option, and complete the relevant information to use GCash for their payments. A PHP10 convenience fee is charged for each transaction.

Other online payment methods supported by eSPAYSEC include Visa, Mastercard, and JCB debit and credit cards, as well as PayMaya wallets.

Meanwhile, the Commission’s main and extension offices continue to accept and process payments.

The public can also pay registration and other transaction fees in person at Land Bank of the Philippines locations.
