On August 22, DepEd will release the P5-K teachers’ allowance.

On August 22, the Department of Education (DepEd) will give public school teachers a PHP5,000 cash stipend for the commencement of the 2022โ€“2023 academic year.

DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa stated during a news conference that the financial aid is meant to support the teachers’ return to the classroom.

“Makakatanggap po ng instructors. I believe that the distinctions between schools are Ibababa. I will attest. But everyone will receive a PHP 5,000 cash allowance by August 22 (all teachers will receive that). I assume it will be downloaded to school divisions. Everyone will receive their PHP5,000 cash allowance by August 22 (I’ll confirm this),” Poa stated.

Additional Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) totaling PHP3.7 billion in total would be provided to schools worldwide in addition to the cash allowance to help them get ready for the next face-to-face lessons, according to Poa.

“This is to make sure they have all the necessary equipment, especially in order to ensure that the minimal health and safety standards are followed while dealing with alcohol” (like alcohol). Not primarily to solicit their purchase of face masks. There’s more to it than that in Hindi. Actually, it’s for the MOOE. We’re allowing them the freedom to purchase anything they require, “he said.

Additionally, he mentioned the potential of a raise for teachers before 2023.

A successful return to face-to-face or in-person instruction is something that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier voiced his wish for, adding that it will hasten the country’s economic recovery from the effects of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

According to Marcos, the start of in-person classes will boost economic activity in businesses around schools, including those selling school supplies, in the retail sector, and in public transportation.

Additionally, parents will be able to return to labor while their kids are still in school, increasing the workforce.

It cannot be balik-eskuwela, balik-negosyo, balik-hanapbuhay, or balik-kaunlaran when it is nagging matagumpay. If this is effective, it will mean that classes will resume but also that businesses, livelihoods, and economic development will resume. This is what is being said in the phrase “if this becomes successful.” Our efforts to reopen the economy will benefit greatly from this, he said.
