The southwest monsoon, also known as habagat, will continue to bring rain showers to several parts of Luzon, the meteorological service reported on Tuesday.

Metro Manila, Region 4-A (Calabarzon), Region 4-B (Mimaropa), and the provinces of Bataan and Zambales may have sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), moderate to occasionally intense rains could cause flash floods or landslides in these locations.

Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, Occidental Mindoro, and northern Palawan, including the Calamian Islands, may see mild to moderate, with at times heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, according to a late Monday advisory from PAGASA.

The rest of the nation will experience sporadic rain showers from nearby thunderstorms.

The entire archipelago will experience light to moderate winds and mild to moderate seas.

The Philippine Area of Responsibility is seeing cloud clusters that are generating light to moderate and occasionally severe rains, according to PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio.

He indicated that a low-pressure area could form from these cloud groupings.
