Foreigners vs. fixers selling immigration services: the Bureau of Immigration
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) warned foreign nationals on Friday not to work with “fixers” when having their documents processed by the organization.
After learning that dishonest people have been attempting to “repair” the cases of foreign nationals who have been ordered to leave the country, immigration commissioner Norman Tansingco issued the warning.
He said, “My office has received information that scammers are charging outrageous amounts and promising to remedy their problems.
He claimed that the con artists, mainly the participants’ fellow countrymen, aggressively advertise their services on the messaging app WeChat.
The Commissioner warned foreigners not to fall for such scams because doing so will only worsen their position.
This is a fraud. They won’t assist you with your case, so don’t even try to negotiate with them. To avoid further issues, it is advisable to simply abide by the law, according to Tansingco.
