The government has provided support for at least 33 more displaced transport workers in Central Luzon.

The funding comes from the government’s “EnTSUPERneur” program, which the Department of Transportation and the Department of Labor and Employment jointly implement to give public transportation operators and drivers who will be impacted by the local public transportation route plan and route rationalization of the PUV modernization program alternative sources of income.

The beneficiaries of the livelihood packages received food items, sari-sari stores, fried chicken stands, retail sales of rice, and sari-sari stores, according to LTFRB 3 (Central Luzon) chief Nasrudin Talipasan on Tuesday.

According to Talipasan, the initiative is a huge aid to those working in the transport sector who are impacted by the public land transportation industry reform.

It says, “Ingatan at lalo pang palaguin at pagyamanin ang kaloob na pangkabuhayan sa inyo. Take care of and improve the livelihood aid that has been provided to you by following the LTFRB’s instructions from now on. For this initiative, the LTFRB is still taking applications, he stated in a social media post.

The 33 program participants went through orientation and training in entrepreneurship on Monday.

Basic bookkeeping, “5Ps” marketing, and entrepreneurship were a few of the topics covered.

Aina Mendoza, an LTFRB training specialist, said the training’s main objective is to make beneficiaries aware of how the program will offer them a social safety net and employment opportunities through appropriately chosen livelihood assistance packages, enabling them to have stable sources of income outside the public transportation sector.

23 displaced transport workers in the area received support packages on October 11.
