Marcos pledged to improve the life of Filipinos: Palace

According to Malacanang, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is dedicated to improving the lives of all Filipinos in the post-pandemic economy.

Following the publication of a study indicating that the majority of Filipinos believe the country is moving in the right path under the Marcos administration, Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary, issued this statement.

According to a recent survey by OCTA Research and the Manila Bulletin, 85% of Filipino adults firmly agree that their nation is moving in the right path, while only 6% disagree.

In a news release, Garafil stated, “The President is resolute and committed to making the lives of all Filipinos better, through programs giving job opportunities and ease in doing business, as well as assuring food security.”

The survey also revealed that 91 percent, of people in the Visayas, had the highest level of agreement that the nation is headed in the right direction.

In the meantime, 84 percent of people in Mindanao, 87 percent of people in Balance Luzon (Luzon outside of Metro Manila), and 70 percent of adult Filipinos in Metro Manila believe that the nation is progressing on the right path.

According to Garafil, the survey “affirms” that Marcos and his government have been taking “all the proper steps” to lead the nation out of the Covid-19 pandemic-related economic recession.

“These figures represent Filipinos who, in their own lives, families, and workplaces, experienced the incredible obstacles the last two years have brought upon us all, and who very well know the challenges we, as a nation, face in rising above these difficulties,” she continued.

According to socioeconomic levels, Class D, or the lower middle class, recorded the highest level of agreement—86 percent—that the nation is moving in the right way.

Eighty-one percent of those in Class E, the “poorest of the poor,” and seventy-nine percent of those in Classes ABC, primarily upper-middle-class people, think the nation is moving in the right direction under the current administration.

She noted that, as the nation moves forward with its post-pandemic economic recovery, running the government is “not an easy assignment.”

Garafil also reaffirmed Marcos’ appeal for all Filipinos to work together to ensure that more of them are lifted out of poverty.

As his administration tries to deliver his campaign pledges to every Filipino, both here and overseas, he continued, “The President’s call for unity and cooperation remains ringing today.

1,200 adults participated in the OCTA-Manila Bulletin poll, which was conducted from October 23 to October 27, 2022.

Filipino respondents were asked: “Do you think the country is leading in the proper way based on the policies and initiatives offered and implemented by the current administration?”

The survey’s margin of error is 3%, according to OCTA.
