Red alert in the Luzon grid lifted by NGCP
On Monday, between 5 and 6 p.m., the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) lifted the red warning in the Luzon grid.
Rotational brownouts are no longer anticipated in Luzon as a result.
11,750 megawatts (MW) of additional electricity are now readily accessible, up from the previously announced 10,708 MW.
Additionally, peak demand rose to 10,437 MW.
However, the Luzon grid remains on yellow alert from 3 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., according to NGCP’s social media posts.
After six power facilities were pushed into forced outages on Monday and three further plants were operating at reduced capacities, NGCP previously elevated red and yellow alarms in the Luzon system.
