The nine recipients of the 2022 Kabayan Awards given to deserving overseas Filipino workers received PHP200,000 each from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (OFWs).

First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos, who attended the Go Negosyo’s Kabayan 2022 event on Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, made the announcement about the financial incentive.

“I stated in my asawa that there were bonuses for the recipients of the tig-PHP200,000 awards (My husband wants you to know that he will give each awardee a bonus of PHP200,000 cash). Merry Christmas to all. We appreciate the honorees. Congratulations, “Araneta-Marcos, who represented the President at the Go Negosyo event, stated.

Alvin Esperida (Bodega ni Tatay), Angelito Castro (Angel Castro Aqua Ventures), Madel delos Santos (Ledam’s Collections Company), Mark Durotan (Diko’s Food Processing & Diko’s Integrated Farm), Marvin Intal (Intal Garments), and Elpidia Abel (active OFW for 30 years) received the “Inspiring OFW” award at the Kabayan 2022 awarding ceremony

The “Honorary OFW” recipients were Anthony Leuterio of Filipino Homes, Jeffrey Guansing of Team Harabas, and Malou Prado of MPQ Travel & Tourism Dubai.

The “Kabuhayan, Kinabukasan, and Kaagapay ng Pamilyang OFW” event’s theme is Kabayan 2022.

Marcos promised the OFWs in his speech that his administration would back them wholeheartedly as they set out on their path to entrepreneurship.

“The national government will continue to work to guarantee the welfare and competitiveness of our OFWs under my presidency, I can assure you as president. We will continue to work on projects that will protect your well-being and create fresh opportunities for the development of the skills needed by the world’s workforce “said Marcos.

We will also provide you with more and better possibilities at home so that you can assist us in writing a new and exciting chapter for our wonderful country, he continued.

Marcos provided reassurance because he had faith in the OFWs’ ability and recognized their substantial contributions to the Philippine labor force and economy.

“You were a pillar of our economy during our nation’s most challenging moments, ensuring the flow of remittances to assist your loved ones and keep our nation afloat. I appreciate you for everything “said he. With our current initiatives, we hope to use entrepreneurship as a means of assisting OFWs and their families in generating more money to meet their requirements.

Additionally, Marcos exhorted the OFWs to “exploit your business drive and your innovation that is distinctly Filipino.”

In order to make working overseas “a choice rather than a necessity,” he expressed optimism that entrepreneurship will provide OFWs a choice to return home.

May these events serve as your beacon of guidance as you seek the next phase of your career, which will enable you to not only strengthen our community’s economy but also improve the quality of life for your loved ones, said Marcos.

“I’m confident that the next events will shed light on subjects like money management, wise investing, judging business prospects, and many more that will help our OFWs in their reintegration into our economy as entrepreneurs,” he continued.
