Predator Gaming and Tier One collaborate, posing competition for the all-Filipino Dota 2 team.

Gaming and esports company Tier One Entertainment launched Blacklist Rivalry, a new Dota 2 professional esports team. Blacklist Rivalry will participate in the next Division I of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) in Southeast Asia along with partners Predator Gaming and Rivalry.

Blacklist International is grateful for the support of Predator Gaming. Acer Philippines general manager Sue Ong-Lim stated, “It has always been our mission to support esports from the amateur to the professional level, and we’re very thrilled to partner with Tier One Entertainment and Blacklist International as they finally extend to Dota 2.”

According to Rivalry CEO Steven Salz, “We’re excited to collaborate alongside [Tier One’s] Blacklist team division to highlight the path of these great players with premium content for fans, as well as ensuring the team is outfitted for championship-caliber performance.”

In order to support and engage the Dota 2 community in Southeast Asia, the partnership will draw on the combined expertise of Tier One, Predator Gaming, and Rivalry. Specifically, Blacklist International’s team management expertise and championship experience will be supported by Predator Gaming’s high-end gaming PCs and Rivalry’s content production and creative resources.

During the Blacklist Rivalry news conference, Tryke Gutierrez, the founder, and CEO of Tier One Entertainment recalled how the idea for the squad originated during the 2022 edition of The International, the Dota2 competition.

“In our meeting, we discussed the potential for cooperation [with Rivalry]. That’s probably when things started to pick up and when it all started to happen. Hey, we might actually have a chance to field a team that can hold its own against the best in the world “thought Gutierrez.

Added, “I have a lot of enthusiasm for this team. Regarding Dota 2, I firmly trust the abilities of Filipino players. Although we have seen it in the past, this is the first time a Filipino squad has been fully staffed. I’m here as a fan as much as I am as the co-founder and CEO. I’m just ecstatic to see them and follow their competition in the upcoming season. We should be able to decipher the code.”

Players Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Marc “Raven” Fausto revealed how it was always their aim to look for a Filipino organization to join after having been a part of international organizations like T1, Fnatic, and Boom Esports.

During the Blacklist Rivalry event, Palad told Philstar.com, “Tagal name nag International team, babalik at babalik sa puso mo yung gusto irepresent and manalo as part of a Pinoy team, magandang achievement talaga siya.”

Because of the differences in the dynamic, Fausto preferred to sign with a Filipino organization.

Added him: “As a Filipino, I don’t think it’s possible to speak in a clear, concise manner because I feel that the language is too harsh and kulang. I enjoy manalo in general. My impression is that the dynamic [among the entire Filipino roster] is really strong.”

The players are thrilled and appreciative of the response and support they have already received despite the team just having been unveiled on November 24 of last year.

“The Dota community in the Philippines has extremely high aspirations for the team in question. I will continue to support you no matter what “Karl “Karl” Baldovino remarked.

Captain Timothy “TIMS” Randrup promises the Philippine-Dota community that “expect us tol try our best” as all eyes are on the forthcoming DPC season.
