British businesses are invited to invest in PH’s upcoming “frontier of development”
The first smart and green metropolis in the Philippines, New Clark City is located in Central Luzon, and the Philippine government has asked British businesses to investigate investment potential there.
A recent investment roadshow was held in London, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
The recent investment briefing at Regent’s University featured at least 60 British companies from the information and communications technology, hospitality, transportation, and research and development industries.
The Global Future Cities (GFC) program, which aims to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth as well as urban resilience in 19 cities worldwide, including New Clark City, sponsored the investment briefing in collaboration with the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (UK FCDO).
In her presentation, BCDA President and CEO Aileen Zosa unveiled the New Clark City to the leaders of British companies. She defined it as the nation’s next stage of development and said that it was “anticipated to spark inclusive and sustainable growth” in Central and Northern Luzon.
The Philippine team actively promoted New Clark City as a top investment location during business engagements it held with prospective investors in the UK.
It also met with other organizations to discuss potential partnerships on sustainable infrastructure and smart city planning, including Transport for London, Foster and Partners, Connected Places Catapult, and London Legacy Development Corp.
A 33.89-hectare affordable housing project inside of New Clark City and a 44.8-hectare New Clark City Park, which is intended to be one of the largest parks in the nation, are both parts of an integrated sustainability plan that the UK FCDO handed over to BCDA last April.
With a total land size of 9,450 hectares, New Clark City is the greatest development project undertaken by BCDA.
