Trump’s tax returns are released by a US House committee.

Donald Trump’s tax returns for the six-year period from 2015 to 2020 were made public on Friday by the US House Committee on Ways and Means.

After a protracted legal struggle, the Democratic-controlled committee made the thousands of pages of the findings public.

Trump has consistently resisted making his tax returns public.

The committee’s report, which was released last week before Trump’s tax returns were made public, stated that Trump’s adjusted gross income from 2015 to 2020 was $53.2 million and that his overall federal tax burden was US$4.4 million.

The audit revealed that the former president had substantial business losses but had paid little in income taxes.

Trump paid income taxes of just US$750 in 2016 and 2017, US$1 million in 2018, and US$133,000 or so in 2019.

In 2020, his final year in office, the former president claimed he lost US$4.8 million and made no payments.

The committee claimed in its report that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) neglected to examine Trump’s tax returns.

“Our conclusions were straightforward. After I made my original request, the IRS did not start their required audit of the former president, according to Richard Neal, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.

Trump objected to the publication of his tax returns.

The former CEO stated, “It’s going to result in dreadful things for so many people. The Democrats should have never done it, the Supreme Court should have never allowed it.”

Trump also had numerous overseas bank accounts in China, the UK, and Ireland between 2015 and 2016, according to recently made public data, however, he disclosed having a foreign bank account in the UK in 2018.
