According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5), 41,486 family food packs (FFPs) have been made for families impacted by the recent northeast monsoon and low-pressure system that battered the province.

According to Marygizelle Mesa, DSWD-5 Information Officer, the food packets are presently at the warehouses in this city, the provinces of Camarines Norte and Sur, and Masbate.

In addition to the 41,486 food packets, there are 50,840 non-food supplies available for distribution in case local government agencies need to expand their relief efforts.

In addition to these, a PHP5 million standby fund is available for distribution in the event that additional food kits and non-food kits are required.

A family of five can get enough food from each family food pack to last at least two days.

In the meantime, 90 families, or 245 people, have been observed by the Office of Civil Defense in Bicol (OCD-5) as they have been residing in various evacuation camps in Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur as a result of the weather disturbance.

In a separate interview, Gramil Alexi Naz, the OCD-5 spokesperson, stated that 42 flooding events had so far been documented.

In Camarines Norte and Sorsogon province, five rain-related landslide occurrences were also reported, according to Naz.

In Camarines Norte, he continued, there was one partially damaged house reported, and 17 local road sections and two local bridges are currently impassable in the area.
