From January 9 to January 15, the average number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) across the nation decreased by 6%, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH said in its most recent case bulletin that from 447 infections from January 2 to 8, there were 419 infections per day in the previous week.

2,934 additional cases and 116 verified deaths were also reported by the DOH.

About 14 of the extra deaths happened between January 2 and January 15, 2023.

More than 4.07 million coronavirus cases and more than 65,590 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.

The number of severe and critical infections increased by one case during the same week, from 507 the week before to 567.

The utilization rate for the 2,340 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) is just 17.2%, or 402, whereas the utilization rate for the 19,607 non-ICU beds is 20%, or 3,917.

As of January 15, 73,803,831 or 94.5 percent of the country’s target population (78,100,578) has received the Covid-19 vaccination, including 79.46 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Out of the population that has received all of the recommended vaccinations, 21,241,707 people have received booster doses.
