PBBM appoints 3 new individuals.
The Intramuros Administration, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas, and the Board of Trustees of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) have all received new appointments from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Malacanang said on Tuesday.
The nomination of Romulo Arugay as CFO chairperson, Joan Padilla as IA administrator, and Mario Molina as an acting member of the GSIS Board of Trustees was announced by Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil in a statement.
When Marcos signed the paperwork appointing Arugay, Padilla, and Molina was not mentioned by Garafil.
A copy of the three new officials’ appointment papers has not yet been made public by Malacanang.
By virtue of Batas Pambansa 79, the CFO was established in June 1980 to reinforce the government’s approach to promoting migrant welfare and interests.
The commission’s job is to support the President and Philippine Congress in developing policies and laws pertaining to Filipinos living abroad.
The CFO is also responsible for creating and carrying out initiatives to advance the interests and welfare of Filipinos living abroad.
The IA, on the other hand, was set up in 1979 as a result of Presidential 1616 in order to advance and direct the urban development of Intramuros while preserving and protecting its historical and cultural significance.
The IA is in charge of planning and carrying out Intramuros’ repair and development as a monument to the Hispanic era in Philippine history.
The Board of Trustees, which is made up of the President, General Manager, and eight additional individuals chosen by the President, is in charge of and performs all corporate duties for the state-run pension fund GSIS.
