The Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program has benefited at least 4,026 citizens in this province (DOLE).

The head of DOLE-Pampanga, Arlene Tolentino, announced on Tuesday that her organization has so far paid out roughly PHP18.9 million in wages to program participants in Pampanga who performed 10-day community works, such as clearing waste from canals, segregating people, and cleaning tasks.

Farmers, fishermen, sellers, laborers, and other underemployed workers received PHP4,500 each, according to Tolentino.

According to her, the cash-for-work initiative will continue to be implemented by the Labor Department so that more residents can take advantage of it.

Governor Dennis Pineda expressed his gratitude to the DOLE for providing aid to his residents.

“It is a program that is being broadcast on Pangulong Bongbong Marcos’s tulong. Layon nito na makapagbigay ng tulong sa ating mga cabalen (President Bongbong Marcos assisted in the implementation of this initiative. The program’s goal is to assist our cabalens, Pineda remarked at the payout ceremony on Monday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

The program’s beneficiaries were instructed by the governor not to split their salaries with fictitious TUPAD coordinators.

“Lilinawin ko lang po, iyong perang natanggap ninyo ay inyo lamang,” said the speaker. Huwag na huwag po kayong magbibigay kung mayroon mang manghihingi ng porsyento sa inyo (I want to be clear. You alone are the owner of the money you were given. Don’t contribute to anyone who asks for a percentage, he continued.
