The possibility of Japanese parliamentarians visiting the Philippines is something that House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez expressed excitement over on Friday. He claimed that this would strengthen the friendship and bilateral connections between the Philippines and Japan.

The House Speaker added, “I look forward to a potential visit by Japanese parliamentarians to the Philippines because this will further deepen the long-standing positive relations between the two nations.

When the Japan-Philippines Parliamentary Friendship League (JPPFL) met on Thursday in Tokyo, Japan, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. officially invited members of the Japanese parliament.

The President claimed that a trip to the Philippines would provide Japanese parliamentarians the chance to see firsthand the beneficial effects of the numerous humanitarian initiatives that the Japanese government has offered to the Filipino people.

In order to further strengthen the mutually advantageous bilateral relations that the two nations have fostered over the years, Romualdez stated, “I truly wish our friends from the Japanese Parliament might visit us in the Philippines.”

The official visit of their Japanese counterparts, Romualdez continued, would also serve as a forum for discussions on the finest parliamentary procedures and creative solutions to the shared problems that both nations are currently experiencing in light of recent events in the region and around the world.

The Speaker claims that plans might be made for the rumored visit to take place in July of this year, which would fall on the 67th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan.

“That would be the ideal time for our Japanese friends to visit because it would mark another significant turning point in our bilateral relations symbolically. They would be most welcome at any time, though, if that is not possible, Romualdez remarked.

Romualdez asserted that regardless of the date of the visit, the renowned and renowned Filipino hospitality will always be present to pay tribute to the warm welcome extended by Japanese officials to the Philippine delegation during President Marcos’ working tour to Japan.

Along with Speaker Romualdez, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, Special Assistant to the President, Secretary Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., and Senator Mark Villar were among the Filipino lawmakers and Cabinet members who attended the JPFFL meeting with President Marcos.

The vice chairs of the other panel were Okuno Shinsuke, Takemi Keizo, and Nakagawa Masaharu, as well as the chairman of the Japanese House of Representatives, Moriyama Hiroshi.

President Marcos and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida witnessed the signing of seven important agreements between the two nations on Thursday in Tokyo. The agreements included topics including infrastructure, disaster relief, agriculture, and digital collaboration.

President Marcos will meet with senior Japanese business leaders after holding talks with influential members of the Japanese government in Tokyo in order to promote the Philippines as an excellent location for direct foreign investment before departing for Manila.
