Access to piped water is available to more than half of Filipinos: SWS
According to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) poll released on Thursday, approximately 17 million or 67% of Filipino households have access to running or piped water.
According to the poll, which was conducted between December 10 and 14, 58 percent of families with piped water access received bills for their water usage, compared to 9 percent who did not.
The average monthly cost for individuals who received a bill is PHP320. In particular, the average monthly water costs in Metro Manila would be PHP500, PHP312 in Balance Luzon, PHP340 in Visayas, and PHP300 in Mindanao.
The average monthly cost of water for unbilled families in the country is PHP300; in Metro Manila, it is PHP400, in Visayas, it is PHP300, and in Mindanao, it is PHP225.
SWS conducted 1,200 adult Filipino interviews with a sampling error margin of 2.8%.
