Employers must comply immediately with SSS-Ilagan’s P1.8-M deficiency warnings.
On Friday, eleven employers in this city were visited and given a letter of the deadline for outstanding payments totaling PHP1.8 million owed to the Social Security System (SSS).
According to Jesus Gonzales Jr., officer-in-charge of the SSS’s City of Ilagan Branch, they implemented the orders by a message from their main office that directed them to enforce the last order on company owners who had not remitted contributions.
Gonzales noted that the objective of the in-person meetings, notice distribution, and demand letters was to boost employer compliance while ceasing coverage of and collection efforts for the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) program.
The official claimed that the employers’ carelessness lost opportunities for workers who should have been using their social security benefits and privileges.
He continued this is only one of 108 Run Against Contribution Evaders (RACE) events taking place today, April 28, around the country.
Through pandemic relief and restructuring programs, the SSS provides amicable resolutions that enable employers to regain their good standing and keep their employees as active members.
According to Gonzales, four commercial establishments’ bosses who failed to take action and pay their dues in the prior RACE program in Cabagan and Tumauini, Isabela in the previous month would be charged.
He continued, “We will allow the legal department to bring charges against these non-compliant establishments.
