Rep. Bro. Eddie Villanueva, who is a member of the CIBAC Party-list, stated his concern on Tuesday regarding the Department of Education’s (DepEd) inclusion and promotion of gender fluidity, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage in its draft curriculum for students in kindergarten through grade 10.

“We are astonished to see that our basic education curriculum is steadily being changed to promote gender ideology, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage! What is more concerning is the tendency among our young kids to support and condone such behavior, according to a statement from Villanueva.

This is not only against God, but it is also obviously unconstitutional! According to Section 13 of Article II of the Constitution, the State is required to advance the moral and spiritual health of our young. The inclusion of these themes in our basic education curriculum, in my opinion, is not moving us in the right direction.

DepEd requested the public and other interested parties to review the updated curriculum draft for pupils in Kindergarten to Grade 10 and submit input by May 3 on its Facebook page.

The varied genders and the significance and advantages of same-sex marriage are among the subjects included to be taught to the youngsters in the proposed new curriculum under the subject Araling Panlipunan 10.

Despite the fact that this is still a draft and, hopefully, will still go through revisions, Villanueva described it as “very disturbing” that gender ideology proponents within DepEd inject their advocacy into our children’s education. “I am urging all interested parties to exercise greater vigilance on this matter because it is a fundamental worry that will influence the moral character of our children.”

He stated that they want to request an investigation into the matter.
