ARTA commends Marikina for streamlining the business licensing process.

The city government of Marikina has received recognition from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for being a model local government unit (LGU) in streamlining and expediting business permits and licensing processes.

On Monday at Marikina City, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro was given the certificate of praise by ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez.

Teodoro noted that the city government has recently been recognized for fully establishing an electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) and introducing helpful reforms and technologies that enabled more seamless and efficient business processes, demonstrating that the city government’s efforts to make business permitting and licensing much easier for Marikeos have not gone unnoticed.

“I don’t know what the nagagawa is when it comes to local and national pamahalaan,” the author says. Our whole-of-government strategy for advancing our projects is being implemented in Marikina. You’ve seen what can be accomplished when the municipal and federal governments work together. In streamlining the procedures for registering businesses, many things can be done. In Marikina, we understand the importance of using a cross-government strategy to carry out our projects. We need the perfect opportunity to implement the simplification of our business registration processes completely, Teodoro said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to ARTA, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Information and Communications Technology Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01, series of 2021, and Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, Marikina has “successfully implemented all functionalities in setting up the eBOSS” as required by law and as further stated in ARTA, providing.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority has a wonderful opportunity to recognize Marikina as one of the seven out of the 17 cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region that has complied with the requirement. “Isang napakagandang oportunidad sa Anti-Red Tape Authority na i-recognize ang Marikina,” Perez said.

“We’re thrilled to honor Marikina with the certificate of recognition. The official continued that we must strongly urge all LGUs to establish and operate this Electronic Business One-Stop Shop.

According to Perez, those that have cooperated with such criteria have seen an increase in the number of registrations and revenue collections based on their experience and records.

Then he urged the other LGUs to imitate Marikina City’s leadership.

“We would like to call other LGUs to follow suit because if all LGUs will comply with this requirement, it will really improve our economy, increase the revenue registrations of LGUs, and increase the revenue collections of LGUs,” he said.
