Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the house speaker and leader of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), welcomed a colleague representative from Bukidnon on Tuesday after he joined the group.

At the Speaker’s Office in Quezon City, Representative Jonathan Keith Flores of Bukidnon was sworn in as the party’s 71st member of the House.

“I appreciate Congressman Flores’s decision to join the political group committed to securing a brighter future for our country. As the 71st House representative of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats and an ardent supporter of progress, we are glad to welcome you today, Romualdez stated.

Other House officials, including Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Lakas-CMD executive vice president, and Agusan del Norte Rep. Jose “Joboy” S. Aquino II, Lakas-CMD secretary general, witnessed the swearing-in, including former President and current senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Romualdez expressed his happiness that Flores has chosen to join the Lakas-CMD and partner in giving the populace a stronger voice to bring about beneficial changes.

He also urged Lakas-CMD members to keep cooperating with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s government to create a more inclusive and prosperous future and make a real impact on the country’s problems.

As promised, we are expanding our backing for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s plans for socioeconomic progress and prosperity. Let’s work together to make real progress in solving our nation’s pressing problems, Romualdez urged.

As the 69th and 70th members of the House, respectively, Peter Miguel of the South Cotabato Second District and Ruth Mariano-Hernandez of the Laguna Second District received the oath from Romualdez in February.
