With the retirement of two senior police officials, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is likely to undergo a significant overhaul.

Maj. Gen. Eliseo Cruz, Director of Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), says goodbye to the Philippine National Police (PNP) on June 14 while Maj. Gen. Ronaldo Olay, Director of Logistics, was recognized for his exemplary service and devotion to the PNP on June 13.

PNP Chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. acknowledged Cruz’s remarkable work ethic, skill, and steadfast dedication during his 37 years of service to the police force in a statement on Friday, expressing his appreciation and gratitude.

“We wish Maj. Gen. Eliseo Dela Cruz, all the best on this historic retirement occasion. His dedication and leadership have been a priceless addition to the Philippine National Police, according to Acorda.

“During the long years of service, I believe you have given all of your abilities, talents, and sacrifice to serve and safeguard our citizens with all of your heart, courage, and skill. ” We shall miss your presence in the PNP, your mentoring, and the wonderful things you did for the various police units you worked with, the official continued.

Cruz served and led in various roles during his successful career, most recently as the director for DIDM. He made a lasting impression on the PNP and motivated his coworkers and subordinates with his unrelenting dedication, optimism, and hard work.

“I am incredibly grateful and humbled to have protected our country with the utmost professionalism and sincerity on behalf of the Filipino people. In his retirement statement, Cruz expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him. “I will always treasure the memories and friendships made during my time in the PNP,” Cruz stated.

Cruz introduced innovative programs that helped the PNP move towards modernization, investigation, and efficiency throughout his tenure as the chief DIDM.

Cruz’s dedication to fostering the growth of investigators was crucial in advancing the PNP’s capacity for solving crimes.

Several high-profile cases were successfully resolved under Cruz’s excellent leadership, maintaining the rule of law and safeguarding public safety. His comprehensive examination of the 990 kilograms of illicit drug confiscation demonstrated his aptitude for inquiry and his commitment to justice and ethics.

One of his more eminent accomplishments was overhauling the National Police Clearance System, streamlining procedures, and improving public access to police clearances.

Since its installation in March 2019, 779 police stations and malls nationwide have been outfitted to make it easier to issue police clearances, generating over 915 million pesos in income.

Cruz’s departure from the PNP creates a vacuum, but his legacy of professionalism and dedication will continue to motivate us. We appreciate his great leadership and service, and he will always be regarded as a mentor and an example inside the company, according to Acorda.

On the other hand, Olay has demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and unshakable dedication to the PNP.

He has contributed significantly to improving the logistical capacities of the police force throughout his more than three decades of service, ensuring that the group is well-equipped to safeguard the country and its citizens.

Olay has successfully carried out various projects during his leadership to improve the PNP’s logistical skills. His actions have improved interagency cooperation, streamlining communication between various PNP units and internal procedures.

“Maj. Gen. Olay’s retirement signifies the end of an era, but his influence on the PNP will endure. Future generations of law enforcement personnel will be inspired by his contributions, which will remind them of the value of commitment, discipline, and upholding the highest standards of service, according to Acorda.
