The positivity rate for Covid-19 in the National Capital Region (NCR) has decreased to 4.9 percent as of July 1, according to OCTA Research Group.

OCTA Research Group Fellow Dr. Guido David on Sunday night tweeted that the NCR’s positivity rate the week prior is 6 percent.

“Positivity rate also fell below 5 percent in Laguna (5 percent from last week’s 7.6 percent) and Rizal (4.7 percent from last week’s 7.3 percent),” he said. “Positivity rates decreased or stayed flat in many provinces.”

The provinces where the positivity rate declined include Bulacan with 5.5 percent from last week’s 6.7 percent; Cagayan, with 15.3 percent from last week’s 16.7 percent; Camarines Sur with 14.5 percent from last week’s 18.8 percent; Cavite with 6.6 percent from last week’s 8.4 percent; La Union with 9.7 percent from 12.4 percent; Oriental Mindoro with 5.3 percent from last week’s 8 percent; Pampanga with 14.2 percent from last week’s 18.3 percent; Pangasinan with 15.4 percent from last week’s 18.5 percent; Quezon with 5.8 percent from last week’s 9.5 percent; and Zambales with 6 percent from last week’s 9.5 percent.

As of July 2, the Department of Health logged 423 new cases, bringing the overall tally to 4,165,499 with 6,925 active cases.

About 443 new recoveries were recorded, increasing the total number of recovered cases to 4,092,090. No new deaths were reported, so the total number of Covid-19 deaths stood at 66,484.
