✈️ Manila – The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) announced on Tuesday that the fuel surcharge for both domestic and international flights will remain at Level 4 for August.

Under Level 4, the fuel surcharge rates will range from PHP117 to PHP342 for domestic flights and PHP385.70 to PHP2,867.82 for international flights, depending on the distance.

The news was welcomed by Philippine Airlines (PAL), with spokesperson Cielo Villaluna stating that the relatively lower fuel surcharge level is a positive development for the airline. She highlighted that fuel prices directly impact the total trip cost, and the stable fuel surcharge benefits the airline and its passengers.

Cebu Pacific President Xander Lao hoped that the unchanged fuel surcharges would encourage more people to proceed with their travel plans in the year’s second half. He emphasized that by keeping fares affordable, the airline can maintain the momentum for high travel demand.

According to the advisory signed on July 17, airlines interested in imposing or collecting fuel surcharges for August 1 to 31 must file their applications with the Office of the Executive Director within the effectivity period.

The applicable conversion rate for USD1 is PHP55.65, as stated by the CAB.
