PRRD’s achievements in Mimaropa will be ‘quickly cascaded.’

Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi, the MIMAROPA Region’s Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS), guaranteed the region’s rapid and accurate dissemination of the Duterte administration’s achievements, goals, and initiatives.

On Tuesday, two days after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his sixth and last State of the Nation Address, Cusi gave this promise at a discussion with local media and regional leaders (SONA).

“Beyond the SONA, this government is dedicated to bringing this administration’s services and resources to every fellow government employee,” he added.

He repeated Duterte’s order to government employees to offer better services to the public.

“Iyan po ang inatas ng Pangulo mula pa, at ito po ang ating ginagawa sa huling oras ng administrasyong ito,” Cusi said.

Cusi said the government was able to establish peace and order and guarantee the security and safety of the people by equipping and giving the military and uniformed personnel with better salaries and benefits, as well as more modern equipment and facilities, as highlighted by Duterte in his SONA.

He also echoed the President’s appeal for citizens to join the fight against illicit narcotics, identifying this, along with insurgency, as the main causes for the country’s lack of growth and social development.

Cusi stated that the NTF-ELCAC, or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, provided help and livelihood to 419 rebel returnees and their families in Mimaropa, totaling PHP18 million.

Mimaropa further said that the administration’s Build, Build, Build initiative resulted in the construction of 180 farm-to-market road projects totaling approximately 18 kilometers at a cost of PHP3.37 million.

A key connection, the Lisap Bridge in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, was also built at a cost of PHP269 million.

Cusi pointed to the administration’s Comprehensive Tax Reform as another accomplishment that enabled infrastructure developments in Mimaropa and throughout the nation.

Likewise, he said that fundamental services have been enhanced, as well as government services such as loan applications, passports, licenses, and other permissions.

“Wala na pong mga pila at para sa kaginhawahan ng mga mamamayan, nagtalaga na din po ng mga online services ang ating gobyerno at pinalawig na din and pagiging epektibo ng ating mga lisensya at pasaporte (There are no longer any lines, and our government has also set up online

Mimaropa reported an 85.8% acceptable recovery rate for Covid-19, as well as a vaccine allocation of approximately 336,000 vaccines to be given in 580 immunization locations.

“I urge everyone to be vaccinated as soon as possible. As we confront another problem, this time with the Delta form of the Covid 19 virus, we need to safeguard the health of our families and communities now more than ever,” Cusi added.

Cusi praised the front-line employees and medical personnel for their commitment and life-saving efforts.

He stated that the government has been working to improve the country’s public health system by raising nurse salaries, providing additional benefits, promoting universal health coverage, establishing Malasakit Centers, and empowering the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to respond quickly and decisively.

“Sa kabila ng ating mga nararanasang pagbabago at pagbuti ng ating buhay, nagulat tayo sa pagdating ng Covid-19 at sa pananalasa nito sa ating kabuhayan at sa ating pamumuhay, nagulat tayo sa pagdating ng Covid Hwag tayong mawalan ng pagasa tayong hwag tayong hwag tayong hwag t (Despite the advances and improvements in our lives, the advent of Covid-19 and its destruction of our livelihood and way of life has startled us.) Don’t give up hope),” Cusi added.

“We have always been robust and strong in the face of typhoons, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and monsoon floods, and we will continue to be so. Ang susi ay magtiwala tayo sa ating sariling kakayahan at sa ating pamahalaan (The key is our collaboration and teamwork.) Let us have faith in ourselves and in our government),” he said.
