With limited PH resources, risk-based testing is more realistic.
Instead of mass testing, the government decided to perform risk-based testing for Covid-19 infections, which was judged unsustainable.
According to Presidential Adviser for Covid-19 Response and Testing Czar Secretary Vince Dizon, comprehensive testing is impractical given the country’s current resources.
“Assuming na ngayon nagti-test tayo mga 80 to 85,000 per day, and assuming itaas natin to 100,000 per day, times 2,000 na lang iyong ating existing cap ng PCR tests on average (polymerase chain reaction). Iyon kada araw iyon kada araw iyon kada araw iyon kad Two billion na po iyon sa loob lamang ng sampung araw (Assuming we are testing 80 to 85,000 per day and would climb to 100,000 per day, times 2,000 of the existing cap and average test for PCR). That’s 200 million people per day. In ten days, that number will have risen to two billion), “At the “Laging Handa” briefing, Dizon revealed.
According to Dizon, risk-based testing was recommended by the experts themselves.
It should be a risk-based assessment. We can make the most use of our resources), “he stated
Senior persons, the diseased, and those who are showing symptoms, according to Dizon, are the top priorities.
Individuals who are experiencing symptoms must also segregate as soon as possible while waiting for their test results.
This is the most efficient system we can come up with), “he stated
