Areas encircled by granular lock Infections are on the rise, and the number of people infected has risen to 844.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) stated Thursday that the number of places under granular lockdown across the nation has risen to 844 as a result of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
On Wednesday, 79 new areas were added to the previous day’s total of 765.
Metro Manila topped the list with 233 areas, followed by the Cordillera Administrative Region (210 areas), the Cagayan Valley (203 regions), the Ilocos Region (165 locations), Mimaropa (18 areas), and Western Visayas (15 areas).
According to the PNP’s most recent data, 2,083 people were affected by the granular lockdowns.
To secure the areas under lockdown, 297 PNP personnel and 550 force multipliers were called in.
According to the PNP, based on the number of reported infections, local government units (LGUs) can quickly determine whether to impose or lift a granular lockdown on a house, complex, street, or building.
Meanwhile, despite another 349 new infections on Thursday, the number of current Covid-19 cases in the PNP has reduced to 3,482. This is down from the 3,615 active cases reported on Wednesday.
Another 482 additional cases were discovered, bringing the number to 42,935, out of a total of 46,543 confirmed infections since the epidemic began.
The Covid-19 death toll for the police force now stands at 126.
