Residents of Northern Samar have been notified of the Alert Level 4 rules.

Due to an increase in Covid-19 instances, the provincial government of Northern Samar has reminded citizens of the requirements under Alert Level 4, which have only been in effect for a week.

The local government said in a statement released Monday that intrazonal and interzonal travel will be permitted under the standards of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, subject to the destination’s reasonable limits.

“People under the age of 18, people with comorbidities, people over 65, and pregnant women must stay at home, except to obtain required products and services, essential employment is allowed industries and offices,” according to the provincial government.

Individuals who have been fully vaccinated, particularly those under the age of 18 and the vulnerable population, are nevertheless permitted to engage in outdoor activities.

Face-to-face classes for basic and higher education, contact sports, cinemas and movie theaters, funfairs and kid amusement centers, karaoke bars, cockfighting and cockpit operations, lottery and betting shops, other gaming establishments, and gathering in residences with individuals who are not members of the same household are still prohibited.

Meeting and social event venues, dine-in services, barbershops, beauty salons, nail and hair spas, fitness studios and non-contact sports venues, tourist attractions, plazas, amusement parks, internet cafes, swimming pools, and recreational venues, and religious services are all allowed at a capacity of 10% indoors and 30% outdoors.

“Gatherings for necrological services, wakes, and funerals for persons who died of causes other than Covid-19 shall be allowed,” the local administration stated, “given that they are limited to intimate family members.”

Government agencies are still operating at full capacity, with at least 20% of onsite capacity.

On January 20, the national IATF approved the escalation of the Cordillera Administrative Region’s Kalinga, Ifugao, and Mountain Provinces, as well as the province of Northern Samar, to alert level 4.

The increased alert level will be in force from January 21, 2022, until January 31, 2022.

Northern Samar had 2,676 Covid-19 cases as of Jan. 19, 2022, with 2,597 recoveries and 78 deaths.
