The risk rating of PH has been reduced from critical to moderate.

The Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday that the coronavirus risk rating in the Philippines has been reduced from high/critical to moderate.

“We have a one-week and two-week growth rate that is negative. “Ang average daily attack rate natin nasa high risk pa rin, but bumaba siya sa 19.43 instances per 100,000 individuals,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a press conference.

Furthermore, hospital and intensive care unit bed use rates are both “at danger.”

According to Vergeire, the national optimism rating has dropped to 35.4 percent, down from 46.8 percent on January 18.

Cases are decreasing in Regions 3 (Central Luzon) and 4-A (Calabarzon), as well as Metro Manila, she noted, but others are still witnessing a high number of illnesses.

“However, if we look at patterns in the number of instances, particularly the seven-day moving average, nagpla-plateau na,” says the author. In the Visayas, bumabagal na ‘yong pagtaas ng kaso sa kanila (it’s plateauing). The growth in Visayas is slowing),” she added.

“Sa Mindanao, may mga piling lugar katulad ng Caraga at Region 12 kung saan may pagtaas ng pag-utilize ng kama so binabantayan nang maigi ito (In Mindanao, there are some regions such as Caraga and Region 12 where we are still witnessing high bed utilization rates, so binabantayan nang maigi ito We’re keeping an eye on it),” she continued.

Since the outbreak began, the Philippines has registered 3,577,298 confirmed Covid-19 cases, with 160,297 undergoing treatment, 3,362,904 recovering, and 54,097 dying.
