In Iloilo City, ‘Resbakuna sa Botika’ debuts.

On Thursday, two pharmacies in Iloilo City opened their doors to the government’s “Resbakuna sa Botika” campaign, which aims to help the eligible population get the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine faster.

During the vaccination rollout at the Mercury Drug Store in Festive Walk Mall, Iloilo, and Rose Pharmacy in Plazuela de Iloilo, both in Mandurriao District, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III was joined by National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, NTF deputy chief implementer Secretary Vince Dizon, and Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) Undersecretary Anthony Gerard Gonzales.

Duque stated in an interview that the city was chosen as one of the campaign’s venues because it has large malls and pharmacies that could supplement the immunization program in terms of accessibility.

He went on to say that they want a location that is both pleasant and accessible to the general people.

The successful implementation of the vaccination program by the local administration, which benefited not only the city’s residents but also those from outside the city, prompted the national government to launch the campaign in this city.

“Its performance rating is 136 percent of the targeted population,” he added, adding that “even (people from) surrounding regions were vaccinated.”

Booster dosages will be provided by pharmacists at first.

They’ll get their supplies from the city government, and their achievements will be included in the city government’s immunization report.

Covid-19 vaccinations are safe, of (highest) quality, and effective against all strains of the virus, according to the health secretary, who encouraged the people to get them.

In his remarks during the launching program, Dizon urged people who have not yet been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible so that the country can recover from the pandemic and the economy may recover.

“Right now, we’re bringing immunizations closer to our people.” We’re genuinely trying to make it as simple as possible. He stated, “We cannot stop until every Filipino has been vaccinated.”
