The collection objective for January 2022 was exceeded by Customs-Davao.
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Davao announced on Thursday that it had met its revenue collection objective for January 2022.
BOC-Davao said in a statement that it collected PHP3.3 billion, or 2.22 percent more than its set target of PHP3.23 billion last month, resulting in a PHP71.60 million surplus.
In comparison to the collection performance of PHP2.95 billion in January 2021, the collection is up 9.49 percent.
The BOC-Davao district collector, lawyer Erastus Sandino Austria, credited the increased revenue collection to enhanced valuation, more enforcement activities, and the government’s attempts to ensure an unhindered flow of commodities despite the pandemic scenario.
“Tax collectors have never been popular, yet there is nothing more rewarding than assisting in the development of a country by raising revenue. “I am incredibly honored to be a part of this organization and to lead Collection District XII (Davao, Dadiangas, Mati, Parang),” he stated.
